Compare Cheap International Long Distance Service

Posted in The Winners on August 31st, 2009

There are many ways to get cheap international long distance calling. One of the best is to use a VoIP service. With VoIP you can make very low cost international calls.

VoIP is a digital phone service that uses your broadband internet connection to place calls to anywhere in the world, for less than if you just picked up the phone and placed the call through your long distance service. I’m sure you’ve heard of Vonage, and possibly Phone Power, for example. They are two of the most well known VoIP services around the world.

With Phone Power you can get a calling plan that is only $9.95 per month for the first three months. After that it costs just $19.95 per month. VoIP service is great because it has such low international long distance rates.

For example, the best rates you can find to call Ireland using traditional long distance is around 3.9¢ per minute. But, with Phone Power you can call long distance to Ireland for 1.2¢ per minute. That is a savings of 70%. Another great example is calling long distance to Spain. With traditional long distance service it will cost you about 3.9¢ per minute with some providers. With Phone Power VoIP you pay just 1.1¢ per minute to call long distance to Spain. That is a 72% discount!

It is easy to see why this service has grown in popularity so rapidly. With these kinds of savings consumers are literally tripping over each other to sign up for VoIP service.

Twitter Mania - Follow Me And I Will Follow You Back

Posted in The Winners on August 30th, 2009

Twitter, the social networking and micro-blogging service that allows its users to send and read other users’ updates (otherwise known as tweets), which are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length, has no-doubt become quite a phenomenon. It is widely rumored that Twitter turned down an acquisition offer from Facebook for $500 Million. A recent TechCrunch report stated that Twitter’s valuation has reached in excess of $250 Million. There are reports that state that the reach of Twitter has exceeded that of Digg in a very short span of time.  With an excess of 5 Million users and over 50 Million monthly visits, everyone’s tweeting!

Needless to say, what’s made Twitter a revolution is its ease of use.  From signup to search, from following others to getting followed by others, to tweet or to retweet, to use the web or the phone, Twitter is just plain simple.  Add to this the power of Twitter APIs, there are hundreds of tools, utilities and apps that continue to spring from nowhere.  Today, there is a twitter tool just about to do anything you want on twitter.

Some use twitter for chit-chat.  Ranging from “I just got up, and am off to a shower” to “Please get out and vote for me”, much is being said in 140 characters or less.  Folks are asking questions and people in hundreds respond.  Advertisers market their products, Affilaites promote products, News sources announce breaking news and Bloggers post their blogs as tweets - whether for personal or for business, Twitter is seen everywhere and used by everyone.

It has never been easier to build a network of followers.  Never before has it been so easy to build a network of a 1,000 followers who follow what you have to say and are ready to receive a message from you.  And best of all, it costs nothing to do it!  Just think about what you would have to do to get a following of a 1,000 people - whether it is cold calling, or mail advertisement, or opt-in email marketing or a paid squeeze page lead capture - it takes a lot of time, money and effort.

The benefits being obvious, everyone is looking to build a wide follower base.  There is a widely prevalent phenomenon on Twitter that is increasing in popularity - “Follow Me and I will Follow You Back“.  This simply means that if you follow me on twitter, I will follow you right back.  There are two schools of thought on this.

The first school of thought is that it is not appropriate to follow everyone that follows you.  The second school of thought obviously thinks not.  The idea of not following everyone that follow you has some logic to it.  You could think of some parallels to this - “Buy my product, I will buy your product back” or “Subscribe to my newsletter, I will subscribe to your newsletter back”.  One could also argue that if you follow 1,000’s of people, you really can’t do justice, as multiple tweets from each one (assuming each one is active) would just be information overload and you simply can’t follow any tweet, giving it justice.  Both of these arguments could be argued as having some merit.  But, also not.

Think for a moment why people use Twitter.  True, one of the primary objectives is for you say what you are doing now and for others to tune in (or “follow”), but Twitter can be used for reasons well beyond that.  Twitter is a wonderful networking tool, where you can build relationships with others and communicate not just now, but for months and years to come.  You can sure tweet for the moment, but you can just as well message the other person in private.  And if it is true that Twitter is a social networking tool, and if others have something of value to offer to you in return, there is nothing unusual about you tuning into their message as well.  After all, you only stand to benefit!

The school of thought that says “Follow Me and I will Follow You Back” does has merit.  Just because two parties follow each other, there is no commitment or obligation.  Either party can ignore tweets, or can search through tweets by name, by RSS feeds or utilizing one of the infinite tools available, if the ongoing tweets are missed.  Either party can message each other, and either party can choose to review or ignore such messages.  And if one does not wants to be bothered, that could be done as well.  Worst case, one could unfollow and/or block others as well. Just as anything else in life, if you use the tool effectively, you will only stand to benefit.

Twitter is real.  Twitter works.  Twitter is the tool of the century - probably bigger and better than any other Social Networking or Web 2.0 tool.  Embrace it!

And if “Follow” bothers you, because you simply can’t follow 1,000’s of people (which I agree with and in that context, Twitter allowing one to follow 2,000 people may not make sense either, unless most are not active, in which case they should not be on Twitter in the first place!), then follow others on Twitter (and be followed) so you can use it to “Send and Receive Messages“.   Again, there is no better tool, whether online or offline, that allows you to be able to send and receive messages to such a wide audience that has mutually agreed to receive and send messages to each other.

If you agree with this thought process, maybe we should rephrase the theme to “Receive Me and I will Receive You Back“.    And, maybe we are not just talking Twitter, but rather an enhanced Twitter, one that is naturally Two-way, maybe we are talking Twowitter

Rose Landscaping For A Beautiful Home

Posted in The Winners on August 30th, 2009

In the beginning there were no roses, just the house set among oaks on a sloping hill. They were not interested in landscaping but something had to be done. So the couple called in an energetic nurseryman who planted the grounds with honeysuckle, Bridalwreath, lilacs, spirea and evergreens. In a few years his plants far outgrew their allotted space and the grounds were no more pleasant than before.

About this time the oak trees succumbed to a disease, one by one, and had to be removed. As if to save the situation, fate, disguised as an Etoile de Hollande rose flourishing in the shrubbery border, stepped in and inoculated the couple with a rose-growing virus.

Never since has Etoile de Hollande bloomed so luxuriantly, but no matter. The rose was responsible for the slowly rising fever that caused this husband wife teem to get eight more roses.

Despite neglect, the plants thrived. Maybe fate made them beautiful to inspire but more likely, it was good soil balance, lack of cultivation and a “green growing mulch” of portulaca or “moss roses” Which had crept into the bed.

Not much later fate took full charge. A broken arm in the fall and during the slow months it was mending, all the books in the house had been read and the only thing left was seed and flower catalogues.

The picture of roses brought the old fever back and now there was nothing to interfere with its course. Not even the persistent considering of golf as the only worthwhile diversion but the arm would not allow any play.

Due to the early training under a wonderful mother who loved growing things, the man of the house felt quite at home in this new world and as his vision broadened, he realized how easily a rose bed could replace a golf green.

Right off he knew growing roses on flat ground was as challenging as desert landscaping. It was a tame adventure compared to the thrill of developing really good ones on a hillside, such as his.

The property, on a slope facing south, was 168 feet long, 85 feet wide and rises approximately 50 feet above the street. The land climbs in a series of terraces from street to level ground and the house. The ascent continued, in smaller terraces behind the house, to level ground and the garage. It rises again to the rear lot line.

Such terrain is unconventional and presents obstacles. Some imagination, a strong determination-. to have lots of A bright roses and a free expression of our creative powers were needed to develop it.

Where to Buy Wii Controllers

Posted in The Winners on August 29th, 2009

The Nintendo Wii is the best selling video game console from Nintendo that uses motion sensing technology to control what’s on the screen. The Wii has been very difficult to find since it was released due to such an overwhelming demand. Many families and house holds have spent days in search of a console with no luck to be found. In most stores the Wii is sold out and still hard to find.

The Nintendo Wii comes with one Wii Remote Controller (also known as a Wiimote), which is the name of the controller used to control the games. Since the Wii promotes family friendly oriented play, four Wiimotes are needed. Since the console is so hard to find, the Wiimotes are nearly impossible since most people will buy an additional three wiimotes.

There’s another piece to the controller called the nunchuck. The Wii Nunchuck is an add-on to the Wiimote that connects via a cable. This piece is typically used to control movement of a character that doesn’t use the Wiimote. The nunchuck is typically held in the left hand while the wiimote is held in the right. The nunchuck has to be purchased separately from the wiimote. So all together, there are two parts to buy to the controller, the wiimote and the nunchuck. The MSRP for both of these devices combined is $60 ($40 for the wiimote, $20 for the nunchuck).

So where do you buy Wii Controllers if they’re all sold out? Many places on the internet sell wii controllers. Since there’s a high demand for them, they may be a little more expensive, but at least you can still get them and not disappoint your family members. Other options would be thrift stores, garage sales, wii controller ebay, buy wiimote ebay, buy cheap wii nunchuck etc. You can also call stores like Gamestop and see when their shipments come. Most employees will tell you when their shipments arrive and whether or not Wii controllers will be available.

How To Make Money With Article Directories

Posted in The Winners on August 29th, 2009

Article directories are websites that contain a lot of articles. Most of these articles are usually put there by the one that owns the copyright to them, and usually as a promotion method.

The way to make money with an article directory is to supply each article with your byline placed under it, so that everyone reading the article will a) know who wrote it, and b) will be able to visit your website to gather more information. By repeatedly using this method, people who are interested in your product or service will notice your articles, view you as knowledgeable about the topic, and may even end up visiting your website.

Even if you can not write anything about on the topic which you are promoting, you can always hire a writer to do the work for you. Getting top quality articles written is usually very expensive, however they will eventually pay for themselves, through affiliate sales (if you are promoting as an affiliate), or selling your own services.

Here’s a real life example. Let’s pretend that you are an accountant working from home, and you decide to write an article on a topic you feel familiar with; accounting. You then post it to various article directories. Those who are searching for information on the topic you wrote about will find, and read your article. They will notice that you indeed have the knowledge and skill they are looking for in order to some work for them, and ends up visiting your website to contact you.

The article you wrote just landed you a new client! This client may even decide to use your services regularly, and end up giving you a nice recurring profit. Now remember, since you have posted it on not one, but serveral free article directories, many others who have affiliate websites about accounting will find and use your article on their own website. The great thing about this, is that since they must attach your byline to it, they will help bringing you even more exposure - and sales!

There are several article directories out there for you to post your articles on. Your best course of action is to put a copy of each of your articles on as many as you can find for maximum exposure. This will eventually help to bring more traffic and customers to your website, which will lead to even more new orders and more profit!

Javea - An Emerald in The Med

Posted in The Winners on August 28th, 2009

Javea is a coastal town, in the province of Alicante. It sits behind a bay between two rocky headlands, Cabo San Antonio and Cabo La Nao. Surrounded by orange, lemon and olive groves. The town is dominated by the Montgo peak, 753 metres high, declared a Natural Park in 1997. Javea has many aprtments and villas for sale at the moment. ( or as the Spanish would say, Apartamentos en Venta en Javea )

Montgo protects Javea from harsh north winds and it enjoys a micro-climate said to be one of the healthiest in the world. There are more recorded hours of sunshine than anywhere else in Spain making it popular with tourists and ex-pats alike. Which is why there are so many Villas For Sale in Javea ( Chalets en venta en Javea ). There is a population of about 32,000 people which swells to around 100,000 in the summer months.

Javea lies midway between the cities of Alicante and Valencia, which both have international airports and has good road connections to both via the N332  A road or the A7 motorway. There is also a regular bus service to the two cities as well as a daily service to Madrid. The nearest railway station is Gata de Gorgos, a ten minute drive away, with a regular service to Alicante.

Javea can be split into three distinct parts, all with properties for sale ( Propiedades en venta en Javea ):

The Old Town: once a walled and fortified town to protect it from pirates stone crosses now mark the original gates in three locations. In the centre of the town is the impressive church of Sant Bartolome which dates back to the 14th century although some of the structure may go back as far as the 11th century. The church suffered significant damage during the Spanish Civil War and shell and bullet holes can still be seen in some walls today.

There is an indoor market built in 1946 selling fruit, vegetables, meat and locally caught fish.

There is also a local museum, “Museo Historico y Etnografico Municipal J.B.Soler Blasco Javea”, which shows the history of Javea and can be visited between the hours of 10.00-13.00 and 17.00-20.00 and 10.00-13.00 weekends and bank holidays, but it is closed on Mondays.

The Port: popular with tourists due to its bars, restaurants, safe gravel beach and marina. The first jetty was built in 1871 and was important in the export of raisins. When the raisin trade collapsed at the end of the 19th century it became a fishing harbour which is how it remains today. There is also the landmark church “Nuestra Señora de Loreto” built in 1967, in the shape of a fishing boat going through the waves.

The Arenal:a wide beach of white sand with a promenade, bars and restaurants. There is an outdoor craft market during the summer as well as sand artists and street entertainers. There is also a Parador Hotel behind which once stood the “Punta del Arenal” a Roman settlement. On the other end of the bay once stood the Fontana Castle whose canons can still be seen outside the Sant Bartolome church in the old town.

Market day is on Thursday except when it is a bank holiday. There are three local fiestas, San Juan in June, Moors and Christians in July and Nuestra Señora de Loreto in September.

There is a large range of rental centres and shops catering to a wide range of activities including cycling, diving, fishing, golf, horse riding, sailing and hiking.

Keeping Horses Content This Winter

Posted in The Winners on August 27th, 2009

The thermometer is starting to plummet and the snow is forecasted for the end of the week so it’s time to take the last steps of preparing for a winter turnout. Horses are made to withstand cold weather and do quite well in 20F weather. It has been shown that horses are healthiest when they are outside for at least part of the day in comparison to being kept in the padlock all winter long.

There are a few things that do change during the winter season to make allowances for the colder weather.

Make sure that water is always available. When the temperatures dip down ice can form on the water troughs. If this is an ongoing problem where you live then an investment in a water heater or an automatic pasture waterer will do the trick. It’s always a good idea to keep an eye on how much they drink, since although they require water, their thirst drops off in the winter.

A shelter is important on cold windy days. A roof with 3 sides is the best because it covers every angle the wind can come in except the front. It looks like an oversized bus shelter. It’s essential to remember that horses will require more food during the winter months. This is because it requires more energy to stay warm. Increase the amount of hay. Since it takes longer to break down, hay endures longer which in turn provides more long term heat.

Supplements are also a high priority in the cold season. A very effective supplement is TAHITIAN NONI® Equine Essentials. It supports the equine immune system with superior antioxidant activity as well as promotes proper feed digestion and nutrient absorption. The cold winter air tends to dry out hair and skin but the TAHITIAN NONI® Equine Essentials combats this. If you have a horse with joint problems there is a sister product called TAHITIAN NONI® Equine Essentials FlexTM that has had great results.

Here is a tip for beautiful sunny days when the light is reflecting that it is almost blinding. Use the fly masks. It cuts the glare. They are also handy on really windy days especially if your horse has ever had problems with his eyes.

You have to admit there is something beautiful about horses running in the snow. As indicated at the bottom of all our web pages, these statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration and these products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Please visit our website for details.

These Days Wedding Favors Are a Must for All Weddings

Posted in The Winners on August 27th, 2009

Wedding favors have a long history. Wedding guests are use to having a little something special to take home from the reception table as their wedding keepsake. Wedding favors have become an accepted part of the wedding for years now so making them unique to your wedding may seem like a difficult challenge. Check the internet when you have questions about autumn wedding cakes.

Personalized gifts for wedding favors are very popular or the keepsake for the guest might be a toasting glass. Even though both wedding favors and bridal shower favors both are associated with the wedding, they are really different.

A Bonbonniere is the name of the little present that was given to wedding guests centuries ago in France and Italy when they were leaving the wedding. The Bonbonniere was made of a kind of stone or crystal and inside were treats made of sugar. The wedding favors got their  start in this way. Ask a friend when you have questions about beach wedding favors.

The guests were to have good luck when they took home their Bonbonniere. The idea was that if the couple gave out gifts to their guests they would be included in the luck that the gifts carried. The usual wedding favor gift that was given was five sugar covered almonds. The five almonds each carried a special meaning to the recipient; wealth, health, long life, fertility, and happiness. This is still kept alive today in many weddings with the use of candy coated almonds much like M&M’s.   Giving these little gifts to the guests carry special meaning and are really inexpensive. Ask a friend and or family member when you have questions about wedding favors.

There are an amazing amount of choices for unique wedding favors available today. There are many ideas for favors, for instance small scented decorative soaps, candles, candy that is personalized, place setting holders with special little keepsake frames, fresh tea packets that are personalized, and much more.
